History of the Helping Help Cookie Campaign

We launched our first "Cookie Campaign" in 1984. The cookies were packaged as lai see to encourage people to donate their red packets.

Since 1999, superstar Mr Jacky Cheung has been appearing on our Campaign posters and acted as the face of the Campaign.

In 2000 our "Inter-school Cookie Competition" was launched for the first time to educate the younger generation to love and care for the elderly.

The Helping Hand Panda was first designed in 2002 as a cheaper alternative charity sale item. The style of the Panda changes every year and in recent years we had a pair of boy and girl which attracted many fans buying them to add to their collection.

The "Double the Giving" programme was first introduced in 2008 which brings double benefits to our elderly and other underprivileged groups in Hong Kong.

The Cookie Campaign consists of the following parts:
- Pre-sale
- Consignment sale
- Public sale
- Inter-school Cookie Competition

Every year we mobilise over 1,000 man-times to sell at more than 100 public outlets. Our elderly, other volunteers and also our staff work tirelessly and selflessly to draw people's support.

Over the years our cookie sale has gained much support from the public. The yearly sales have once reached 200K packs and in recent years through this essential and signature campaign we can raise around HK$3M-4M.
